Deconstruct: Week 1

Questions

  • Had you heard of the term “deconstruction” before hearing this message? What are your thoughts on faith deconstruction?

  • Have you ever had doubts or questions about God?

  • You don’t need to have it all figured out to follow Jesus. Even Jesus’ own disciples didn’t have all the answers. He invites you to follow him right where you are. What do you think means to follow Jesus? Where are you at in this process?

  • Read Jeremiah 29:13. What does it mean to seek God with all your heart?

Spiritual Practice

Prayer: Don’t wait until you have it all figured out before you follow Jesus. Spend time with Jesus right now. Even if you’ve never prayed before. Talk to Him. Ask Him to come into your life.

Scripture: Read about who Jesus is. There are four books of the Bible (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) known as the Gospel. These books go through the life of Jesus. Start reading one of these this week, even if it’s just a few verses per day. If you’ve been following Jesus for a long time, these books are great to go back to to continue learning about who Jesus is and what He did.
