Weird Stuff Christian Do Week 6

Questions

  • Pray and invite God into this time with Him.

  • What is your experience with communion in church?

  • Read Matthew 26:26-29. What stands out to you from this passage?

There are three elements to communion: the table, the bread, and the juice.

    The Table

  • Describe a memory you have that happened around a table.

  • What do you think is significant about coming around Jesus’ table?

    The Bread

  • Jesus breaks the bread because he knew his body would be broken. Even though his body was broken, it didn’t stay that way. We can have hope that our brokenness can be healed as well. The bread is a symbol of healing. What brokenness do you need healed today?

    The Juice (or wine)

  • The juice represents the blood that was shed for a purpose. It was shed to cover, erase, and forgive our sins. What do you need forgiveness for today? Whatever it is, know that you already have received forgiveness through Jesus’ death on the cross.

Spiritual Practice

Communion: Whether in a group or by yourself, take time to reflect on this practice of communion. If you feel comfortable, walk through communion on your own using elements that you have around. As you take each element, ask Jesus forgiveness and ask him to heal your brokenness.
