Behind the Music Week 6
Questions
Pray and invite God into this time with Him.
The main word for today is contentment. Do you feel like you are content in your own life with everything going on around you?
Read 1 Timothy 6:6-8. What is the Bible saying about contentment? What is true wealth?
Read 1 Timothy 6:9. Here it is talking more about greed. Have you ever found yourself wanting more than you have and it leads you astray?
Contentment can be found in the little things. You could be content about simply having a roof over your head instead of dreaming of big mansions and fancy things. What are some areas in your life you need to show more contentment in?
“We find contentment in places we regularly return to”. There are places in your life that you go to that bring you great memories, peace, and joy. It’s an area you are content being at and you might not even realize it. When you think about your faith and how you live it out in your day-to-day life, is Jesus a place you regularly return to? Are you not content with things in your life because your time with Jesus is more like a once in a while vacation and not simply a place to live everyday? A place to find peace everyday?
Spiritual Practice
Reflection: Ask yourself and write down the places in your life that you are content in. Write down the areas in your life that you struggle to be content with. Do you find contentment through Christ?
Prayer: Spend time in prayer over what you have reflected on. If you struggle being content, go to God with all your worries and troubles that may be causing that. Pray for peace and contentment in your day-to-day life. Pray for discipline in your life to go to Christ all the time because contentment is found in places you return to regularly.
