Ephesians Chapter 6
Read
Read Ephesians 6 as a group.
Ask
What does it mean to obey your parents in the Lord? What’s the difference between obedience and honor?
Paul is not glorifying or endorsing slavery, but rather speaking to people who were in that situation. What does he command them to do?
What command is given to masters?
What does it mean to “be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power?” How does this
differ from relying on our own strength? See Ephesians 6:10.
Read Ephesians 6:11-17. What stands out to you from this passage? Make a list of each
piece of the armor of God and what it gives.
Paul emphasizes a life of prayer in Ephesians 6:18-20. How would you describe Paul’s
prayer life? What does it mean to “pray in the Spirit?”
How would you describe your own prayer life? How would you want to see your prayer
rhythm change in the next six months?
Share any overall reflections or thoughts you have about the book of Ephesians as a
whole.
