Questions

• Pray and invite God into this time with Him.

• Read John 18:28-29, 33-36.

• When Jesus says His kingdom is not of this world, what does that mean to you? 

• Have you ever looked around at the world we live in and thought “this isn’t how it should be”? 

• Read John 18:36-37, 19:1-3.

• Jesus wore a crown of thorns to spare us from having to feel those thorns. Why do you think Jesus did that instead of just leaving us to deal with it ourselves? How does it make you feel that Jesus did that for you? 

• Read John 19:14-22.

• Pilate inadvertently declares that Jesus is the King of the whole world. Is Jesus your King? Have you surrendered your life to Him? Is He the King over your work? Your dating life or marriage? Your private life? Your finances? Your future?

Spiritual Practice

Prayer: Spend time in prayer with God. If you haven’t yet, ask Jesus to be the King of your life. Thank Him for bearing the crown of thorns so that we could be spared. Ask Him to help give you the strength it takes to fully surrender to Him and hand your life over to Him.
