A Christmas to Remember Week 1
Questions
Pray and invite God into this time with Him.
Do you have a favorite memory from Christmas time? What is it?
Have you ever seen something that broke your heart? Did you feel awful witnessing what was going on?
Did you do anything about it? Did you try to help at all?
What does God want to do through you?
Read 1 Timothy 6: 18-19.
Do you do good? Are you rich in good deeds?
If you had a good deeds bank account, how much is in it? If you had a good deeds investment portfolio, how would it be performing?
What would it look like for you to be rich in good deeds?
Are you generous? How? Are you willing to share? What are some ways you’ve shared? If you haven’t, what are some ways you can start to be generous and share?
When Christmas is over and you’ve opened all the presents, do you ever feel sad or empty? Compare that feeling to how you feel after being generous and sharing. How are those feelings different in those situations?
How do you think it feels to be filled with true life because of Jesus instead of material things?
Spiritual Practice
Reflection: Take a deep breath and reflect on the questions you just answered. Think about ways that you can be generous going forward, think about ways you can share and help others. Think about how much God loves you and how you’re able to be generous because He loves you so much.
Prayer: Spend time in prayer with God. Thank Him for His generosity towards us. Thank Him for sending His son to die on the cross and save us from our sins even though we didn’t deserve to be saved. Ask God to show you ways that you can start being generous and thank Him for the blessings He has provided in order for you to be generous.
