Parent FAQ

Everything parents should know about Embrace Academy

Parent FAQ

Which curriculum will you be using?

Currently, we are using Fellowship Kids’ curriculum, but our hope would be to partner with a company who writes curriculum to help us develop the content that perfectly pairs with this methodology.

What if a child misses registration day or another day during the 9 weeks?

If a child misses registration, we will partner with them when they return to plug them into a group they will enjoy.

If a child misses during the 9 weeks and they are working on an activity that builds on itself each week (a play or drawing, etc.), the leader will do their best to help them catch up when they return. Just like a summer camp, sometimes missing can put your child behind.

How will you get enough volunteers to run this program?

This is where you come in! We are asking every parent to partner with a friend or spouse and volunteer to lead one 9-week activity-based group per year. This group can be whatever you choose and as space allows.

If we all do a little, together we will see great things accomplished in the hearts of our children.

What if I want to help, but can't commit to a 9-week session?

There is an array of Embrace Academy volunteer positions available. We have multiple roles for parents looking to volunteer on a weekly or monthly basis. Connect with the Kid's Director to learn more about these opportunities.

Checking your child in

before service:

Here at Embrace Academy we use a computerized check-in system, giving each kiddo a unique code when you get here on Sunday mornings. Check in your child at any available kiosk in the Embrace Academy area by finding their name in our database. Once you check in, you and your child will be given matching name tags that are exclusive to your family and service time. Your child will need to wear that sweet name tag while you hold on to the matching tag during the service.

after service:

Still have that tag? Bring it back to the Embrace Academy area to pick up your kiddo after service ends. If you lost the tag (it happens to the best of us), we’ll help you print out another one before picking up your child.

Unique care for each age group

nursery and toddler rooms

During service you can bring your infants through 2 year-olds back to our Nursery and Toddler Rooms to be loved on and cared for by our team of volunteers.

EArly childhood

Early Childhood at Embrace is a separate place for you to bring your preschool-age and younger kids. During service our team of volunteers will hang out and play with them while you worship. Kids in this age range will read Bible stories and have playtime with short activities.

embrace academy

Embrace Academy is like summer camp on a Sunday morning for elementary-aged kids. Nine-week sessions allow kids to mix up their interests and choose the topic they want to learn about, including sports, art, cooking, or even bodybuilding!
