So he set off and went to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion; he ran, embraced him, and kissed him. – Luke 15:20

encounter.

“so he set off and went to his father”
It is our hope that through each other, worship, the Word, prayer and serving that we would find ourselves in the presence of our Father, the presence of God. For some, it’’s been a long time since they’’ve been home. For others, they left their Father’’s presence this morning and have already decided to come back. We simply need to come.

compassion.

“while he was still far off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion”
Our desire is to be a people that would give hope and compassion to the sick, broken & hurting. Embrace is a home where one can be transparent and know that regardless of who they are or where they’’ve been, they have a seat around the table with the Lord. The Father could have been filled with anger and self-righteousness, but immediately compassion overwhelmed Him. When we’’re honest, the sick, broken and hurting involves everyone, including ourselves.

“he ran, embraced him, and kissed him”
We are a group that is searching for more to life. For many of us, this is the search for hope, love and wholeness. For believers, this is the desire to go beyond surface level Christianity and into a deeper walk with Christ through discipleship. Regardless of where you are in the search, we believe that more can only truly be found in the deep and unconditional embrace of God.

“he ran”
When one finds themselves in the embrace of God, they can no longer remain the same person that they were before… we become more like Him to ourselves and to those around us. One author explains that we become the Father to our friends, neighbors, co-workers and relatives. Our greatest desire is to serve and love people; that they would experience the Father and His embrace through us. Through this church, we desire to bring glory and honor to the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
